After seven years of closure, The Plunge in El Segundo officially reopened on Saturday, June 6, 2026. The historic Uhro Saari Swim Stadium, which first opened in 1941, welcomed the community back with a grand opening celebration featuring music, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and self-guided tours of the newly renovated facility. Afterward, residents had the chance to be among the first in the pool during special “First in the Pool” recreation swim sessions.
At 85 years old, the city’s beloved indoor aquatic stadium has been given new life while preserving its historic character. Programs began on June 15, with lap swim, recreation swim, and swim lessons for all ages. We’re thrilled to see this El Segundo landmark open to the community again.
